Studio Jantzen is currently working on a number of projects that range in scale and program. We are collaborating with verse design LA on a large masterplan for the Qindao province, in China. The project is in schematic design phase and our next step will be a meeting with the local authorities in China, in November. Once approved, we will move into the schematic design for the residential towers, and commercial and public spaces, as well as the more specific planning for the new city streetscape, and vehicular arteries. We are working on another public project, the Parking Structure 5 in the City of Santa Monica, which includes retail and skin re-development. This project is under construction and we expect it will open early next year!

As part of our practice, we believe that some projects need to evolve from a real need of people, and that it may take place before a 'real client' shows up. One such project, which has occupied our minds, is the development of a concept for West Adams Blvd. so that this up and coming area of Los Angeles become more pedestrian friendly, and more inviting for the surrounding residential community. This need is real. Our office is a beautiful haven in this fairly abandoned and dangerous part of the city. Yet, we can see that with a bit of imagination and a lot of tweaks, we can transform this Avenue into an attractive artists' and alternative's businesses magnet.
